Jak And Daxter The Precursor Legacy
is
a game developed in 2001 by Naughty Dog. The same developer as Crash Bandicoot
1, 2, 3 and CTR. The game is a platforming game, you jump around collecting
Power Cells. The more Power Cells you have the further you can go. They are as
Orbs to Spyro or Stars to Mario. There are also Precursor eggs and when you have
over 90 you can trade them for Power Cells. The game is very open world. You can
go where you want, when you want. You go through forests, beaches, volcano,
pretty much everything you can imagine. There's absolutely no loading times in
the game, you walk from one level to the next. The levels are piled on top of
one another. You're in a level, you walk through a hallway and before you know
it you're on a different level. Taking about levels, They are mostly dark and
dreary, would of been nice to have some more sunny levels.
Graphics: The game looks very nice considering how old it is now. Take a look at
the screenshots to see for yourself.
Sound: The Music is alright, depending what level you're on it's mostly dark and
dreary. Nothing too memorable.
Controls: It forces you to use the analog stick while the d-pad does nothing.
But saying that, it controls very nicely. It can be frustrating if you get to
the top of a high structure and fall all of the way down.
That's one of the things I didn't like too much about the game, sometimes
there's high structures you are expected to climb on, I just couldn't get to the
top, maybe it's just me. One other thing is the checkpoints. When you fall off
you start from an invisible checkpoint somewhere the game decides for you. This
could be a long way away. If you have a PS2 and have never played this game and
are a fan of platform games, try it out, you may be surprised.
